Randa Seargeant » Welcome!

Welcome!

Hello!

My name is Randa Seargeant. I grew up in a small town in southwest Oklahoma, Gould, and attended school there from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  I graduated in 1985 and attended college at WOSC, later transferring to Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Ok where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I taught in Wichita Falls for 11 years, Bridgeport for one year, and for the last 18 years of my career I have been teaching in Mineral Wells at Travis Elementary.  I currently teach Resource Language Arts for grades 4th-6th, but I have taught all subjects 1st-6th except for music.  I am certified in Special Education, General Education 1-8, and dually certified in Montessori ages 6-9 and 9-12.  Most of my career has been teaching in upper elementary, and that is where my heart is.

I am married to Tim Seargeant, a former professional bullfighter with the PRCA and together we have raised four sons.  We love to travel, fish, and work in our yard.   Laramy, our oldest son graduated from Perrin in 2008 and has served in the military for the past 13 years.  He is married to Amanda who is a homemaker. They have three children Gabriel, Elizabeth, and Samuel.  Trent, our second son, graduated from Mineral Wells in 2014. He is a bullfighter and lives and works on a ranch near Granbury.  He is engaged to his sweetheart, Saige.  Tristan, our third son, graduated from Mineral Wells in 2016. He is a retired professional bullfighter and is the floor manager at Southwest Ford in Weatherford.  He is married to Grace who is a 2015 Mineral Wells graduate.  They have twodaughters, Emmy  and  Harper.  Sevens, our youngest son, graduated from Mineral Wells in 2018.  Sevens is the plant manager of Titan Ready Mix in Cresson.

My recently departed parents are Jimmy and Linda McGee.  They both retired from teaching, and were serving students in tutelage at WOSC at the time of their deaths in December of 2021.  My dad tutored in math and my mother in reading and English.  They both held a Master of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.  I am happy to say that I come from a family of educators on both sides of my family.

I have two siblings, an older sister and a younger brother.  My sister, Tama Jarvis, is a retired schoolteacher.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from SWOSU and taught in Terrell ISD for 29 years serving students K-2nd with an emphasis in reading. She retired in May of 2017 and returned to the family farm in southwest Oklahoma.  She is married to JB Jarvis whom she has been married to for 34 years.  They have two grown children, a daughter and a son.  They also have three beautiful granddaughters and a handsome grandson.  My brother, Nathan McGee, is a pastor and the administrator of a nursing home in Hollis, Ok.  He holds a BA in Theology and Ministry from Southern Nazarene University and holds certification for licensing as a nursing home administrator. He is married to Tammy, a registered nurse, and they have six grown children, four sons and two daughters.  They own a farm and practice regenerative agriculture which is in line with his theology.  He served in the Navy for 5 1/2 years before returning to Oklahoma to pursue his education.
